Meet Veronica – The Photographer

“It is no accident that the photographer becomes a photographer any more than the lion tamer becomes a lion tamer.”

Dorothea Lange

Hi, and welcome to my little corner of the world!  I am the Hip Grandma with a Camera, also known as Veronica Bareman: Hip Grandma, Wife, Mother, Photographer, and Adventurer!  So, what does a vibrant woman just starting the middle years of her life love to do?  Share her adventures with you, of course!

Let me take you with me as I parent, grandparent, travel, and cope with mental health stuff (my own and the people I love)!  Welcome to my little piece of the world.  Enjoy your time here.

I call the small town of Fennville, Michigan home.  My big family is the true love of my life and includes my amazing and patient husband, Dan, my five kids, two of whom are married, two who are living their best single-dude lives in their 20s, and one who is still under my roof and about to enter high school!  Eeek!  Let me tell ya, parenting adult kids is not for the faint of heart.  But it has its rewards, too!

Somewhere in my mid-40s, as the kids began spreading their wings and finding their independence, I picked up my camera and began to study photography.  It was the perfect time to find a new hobby!

My husband and I look forward to his retirement in the next several years when we can begin to explore some travel and the freedom of not being tied to his 9-5 schedule.  We enjoy our beautiful little space out in the country where I’m learning to garden, and I love taking photos in our wooded backyard.

I don’t think there’s anything better than connecting with someone and making their dream of gorgeous photos come true!  Every person should have beautiful portraits of the people they love the most, and I love to take them!  It makes my heart happy when I get to deliver gorgeous, heirloom-quality prints that will hang in your home.  These prints will become a part of your family’s memories and enjoyed for generations.

“When you photograph a face, you photograph the soul behind it.”

Jean-Luc Goddard

Also, as my kids have grown and flown the nest, I have begun to travel a bit and love to take photos of the places I’ve seen!  It would be my honor to share one of my images for you to hang on your wall in your home!  Take a look at my landscape and nature photography to see if these images are just right for your space!
